FAN Bulletin #563
April 8, 2006
Dear All,
Below I have printed out the latest Google News Alert on Elise Bassin’s study on fluoridation and osteosarcoma. The story has gone as far as Romania and China. Please note that item 5 is a Media Release from NYSCOF@aol.com, which provides a very helpful chronology on concerns about a possible connection between fluoridation and cancer, and osteosarcoma in particular, which stretches back as far as Taylor’s studies on mice in 1954. This same media release was used on the Food Consumer web site (see item 1) and credited to Dr. Bob Carton. I’m sure Bob would have no problem being credited with the authorship of this chronology but I believe that his name appears at the end not as an author but as a contact person to verify a statement he had made. Quoting the release:
“EPA has more than enough evidence to shut down fluoridation, right now, with a special advisory, says retired EPA scientist, Robert Carton, PhD. The safe drinking water act requires the EPA to act to protect all populations from known or anticipated harm, says Carton.”
Dr. Carton remains the most authorative source on the fraudulent manipulations that went on at the US EPA when adminstrators there forced scientists to increase the MCLG to 4 ppm in 1985. He can be reached at .
