Good News On Bryson - Corrected links

FAN Bulletin #581B

April 21, 2006
Dear All,

Yesterday, I received an advance copy of the paperback edition of Chris Bryson’s book “The Fluoride Deception.” This book comes with a splendid new introduction that focuses on the recent developments surrounding fluoride and osteosarcoma. It covers Bassin’s thesis; the Douglass cover up; the EPA union call for a moratorium and also acknowledges the important role that FAN has played in bringing public attention to these matters. Perhaps most importantly, Bryson puts a human face on the osteosarcoma controversy by introducing readers to Tony Vallentine from Massachusetts, and the tragedy he and his wife experienced when their 16-year-old son Seth got diagnosed with this horrible disease.

In addition to a superb discussion on fluoride/osteosarcoma, Bryson’s new introduction also cites FAN’s ongoing efforts to thwart the sweetheart deal the EPA Pesiticide division is handing to Dow AgroSciences in its attempt to use sulfuryl fluoride as a fumigant on food.
When I showed the new introduction to a neighbor of mine, she said, “that - not the whole book - is what you should send to US Senators and beg them to get them to assign an aide to research the issue, especially the NRC report.”

For those who would like to order a copy of this paperback edition, it can now be pre-ordered online at Amazon.com. See: http://tinyurl.com/l7gpt. (The book should be officially released within the next week or two.)

Another exciting piece of news is that we now have an updated DVD of our Bryson interview available for online orders. In addition to containing new titling features, the updated DVD comes with a professionally designed cover box which should make it more amenable for archiving at libraries and more effective as a resource to give councilors, dentists, etc. To order, see http://www.customflix.com/208840.

Finally, while you are waiting for the new book or DVD, you might start working on a letter to the editor of your local paper singing the praises of Chris Bryson’s work. You might work on something like the following. “For those who are wondering why it is that the CDC and the ADA can continue to advocate water fluoridation just a few days after a 12 member panel from the the prestigious National Research Council published a 450 page report which documents the dangers of natural fluoride to our health, this is the book to read. There is more to the US government’s promotion of this practice than the desire to improve children’s teeth. Bryson’s book is to the politics what the NRC report is to the science on this matter.”
