Meeting of the Minds

Hello All,
We will hold our monthly meeting this Saturday, Aug. 19th at 10:a.m. at the East library in Clearwater just east of Belcher Road on Drew St. I have just returned from the Second Citizen’s Conference on Fluoride at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York. Three of the twelve member panel who conducted the National Research Council report were present. Their testimonies and input were extremely encouraging, affirming the report absolutely related to water fluoridation.

When confronted with the new findings, our county utility “expert” Pick Tally, denied the report was related to water fluoridation, that it referenced natural occurring fluoride only. This was the response he gave our commissioners for use when confronted by citizens who have had online access to the findings. It shall be interesting to witness his reaction in the near future, as the news becomes public.
The panel members confirmed the standard set by the E.P.A. as safe, is hazardous. There is much more. While at the conference, one of the panel members called to inquire about the status of the report being made public. Their response was “not enough money at present to get it out to the public!” Imagine that! Meanwhile, “back at the ranch..” the entire country continues to be given hazardous levels of fluoride through the water supplies!
You can read all about the conference here at our website. Or you can visit fluoridealert.org for more information from our National leader Paul Connett. If you have not yet read about the National Research Council report you ought to do so. We are seeing numerous communities haulting fluoridationaround the country. It is catching on. It is a pity that our county officials did not heed our warnings in 2oo4. It shall be interesting in the near future, to see their reactions to the new studies, two years later, which confirm the very warnings we gave them. Let’s hope they wiil take responsability and reverse the decision to fluoridate our community.

Elections are coming up. I am hoping to see Norm Roche take the place of Calvin Harris.I believe he will work to end fluoridation. I am not familiar with the gentleman who is running against Susan Latvala. Whatever the outcome we hope that new evidences of the hazards of fluoridation will convince all commisioners to reverse the fluoridation program. It is unfortunate for all of us, including the commisioners and their families, that they did not take to heart the evidences we presented to them in 2004, yeilding instead to the recommendations of the “reputable associations” they trusted in.  As the new studies have presented positive dangers concerning the fluoridation program, it is surely only a matter of time until our commissioners will be forced to readdress this issue for the safety of all of us. We certainly could use more help in bringing the new evidences to light. Please join us each third Saturday of the month at the Clearwater East library just East of Belcher Road on Drew St. at 10 a.m. Your help is needed and wanted.

Sincerely,
Virginia Brown
