FAN Bulletin 761: An exciting new campaign to help FAN

Dear All,
Some of you may have just watched Kevin Bacon being interviewed on today’s edition of the ABC-TV program This Week. He outlined the motivation for his project SixDegrees.org. The idea is to use the internet to raise funds for charities. People can nominate their favorite charity and put it on his web site. He has pledged to match $ for $ up to $10,000 for the top six charities based upon how much money they raise by the end of March. More on his efforts can be obtained at ABCTV.com
Thanks to Tom Nocera of Florida, the American Environmental Health Studies Project Inc (AEHSP), our parent charity, which raises funds both for FAN and the work I do on waste management (the larger bulk of funds goes to FAN), we are on this list for this mini-competition. But Tom Nocera’s initiative does more than that. He has linked his appeal message (see below) to the Bryson video, so that everyone we can persuade to go the site has the opportunity to watch this 5-star rated video explaining the sordid history behind the US government’s promotion of fluoridation. So as well as being a fund raising exercise it is also a great educational campaign, which each one of you can track as our fund rises and the number of people watching the video rises.
