FAN Bulletin 800
April 23, 2007
Dear All,
It is with a very sad heart that I have to report that one of our great fluoridation fighters has passed away: Martha Bevis. I have never met Martha in person but I have spoken with her literally dozens of times over the phone. She was an incredibly generous supporter of FAN, and many communities fighting fluoridation around the country were pleasantly surprised when a check arrived in the mail (out of the blue) from Martha to help them with their fight. But it wasn’t just her financial support which helped this cause. She knew the issue inside out and upside down and supplied crucial documents and information at crucial times.
Martha was 80. The good news is that she passed away while she was doing what she loved to do: pouring over the internet keeping up the fluoridation fight and many other issues.
Here is the note we received yesterday from her son Cam:
I don’t know if you would be the right person to contact, but I am writing this letter let you know of the passing of my mother, Martha Bevis. I know she would have wanted her friends in the fluoride fight to know of her passing, and you are my first stop at notifying them. She passed away peacefully at her desk this morning, 4/22/2007, doing what she loved: investigating things on The Internet. Please forward this on to whomever you deem fit if you will…
Respectfully,
Cam Bevis
We would love to hear stories from those who knew Martha and hear more details on her very long involvement with this issue.
