Looking for more angels and more reports

FAN Bulletin 913

 December 27, 2007

Dear All,

FAN’s fundraising effort

Yesterday – thanks to a matching challenge grant from our third angel – was another good day for us. We were able to add another $1,270 to bring our current total to $25,218. A huge thank you to all 123 contributors to date.

If we are going to get close to our goal for New Year’s Eve of $40,000, we are going to need to find some more angels to offer matching grant challenges. Such challenges make our task more exciting and help us to move forward twice as fast. It is great to be able to say each dollar you donate is worth double (up to the time we have exhausted each matching grant challenge).

Right now we have to raise another - $14,782 in FIVE DAYS - to reach our goal by midnight (EST) New Year’s Eve. Quite frankly, Mike and Ellen think this is impossible. I don’t and moreover, we are getting used to trying to do impossible things! Some people thought it would be impossible to get where we are at right now. Some people think it will be impossible ever to end water fluoridation. I don’t. So will you please prove that I’m right – that we can do the impossible and raise this money and will also do the impossible and get closer and closer to ending fluoridation worldwide in 2008?

To make a donation please go to http://www.FluorideAction.net and click on the Donate link at the top of the page. Alternatively, you may simply write out a check to AEHSP and send it to AEHSP, 82 Judson Street, Canton, NY 13617. But let us know that you have done so so that we can keep track of our running total.

Remember, if you are a US citizen, your contributions are tax deductible (through our parent body the American Environmental Health Studies Project, AEHSP, which has 5013c status).

2007 reports

Over the next few days we will be summing up some of FAN’s achievements and activities in 2007 and then sharing some of our plans for 2008. Do you have anything to add to our 2007 summary?  Did you have any successes (local, state or nationwide) or major setbacks? So far we have reports from Arkansas, Minnesota, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Washington State, Alberta and Ontario, Canada. We also have received a very interesting report from New Zealand where fluoridation fighters have drawn up a list of the government zealots who continue to promote this practice and some of the outrageous things they have said. Can you prepare a list of the zealots who are leading the pro-fluoridation forces in your area? Do you have quotes of some of the outrageous things they have said? Please send any reports, quotes or thoughts on this to me at
.

Thank you for everything you are doing to end this foolish practice. Will you help us do more in 2008?

Paul Connett

PS This was sent out using our old distribution system – tomorrow we will be back to our super-duper new (DIA) system.
