Dear Supporter,

1) The Professionals’ Statement passes 1500

A few days ago we reached an important milestone: we passed a total of 1500 people signing the Professionals’ Statement (see: http://www.fluoridealert.org/statement.august.2007.html ) calling for an end to fluoridation. As of today we have reached 1565. But this number hardly does justice to the array of doctors, dentists, scientists and others calling for an end to fluoridation worldwide. Below we have made a list of some of the more famous signers and a list of the last 16 people to sign. For us at the receiving end it is most exciting to check the names of the MDs, PhDs, DDSs etc as they arrive each day. It wasn’t so long ago that dentists and doctors would be frightened to exercise their democratic, academic or professional freedom to speak out on this foolish practice. But each day as the number grows it gets easier and easier. Please help us ? by asking any professional you know ? to get to 2000 names as soon as possible. 2) The ONLINE MESSAGE to CONGRESS passes 10,000

Today, we reached another milestone. We passed a total of 10,000 people signing the ONLINE MESSAGE to Congress (see: http://fluoridealert.org/congress ). Any one living in the U.S. who signs this will have the message sent to their two US Senators and their US representative. The message supports the Professionals’ Statement and also asks for a Congressional hearing so that civil servants working in the CDC, EPA and the FDA can be questioned under oath.

Personnel from the CDC, EPA and the FDA need to explain why the CDC continues to promote this practice despite the health warnings in the National Research Council review published on March 22, 2006. They need to explain why the EPA has yet to start (let alone complete) a health risk assessment to determine a new safe drinking water standard goal for fluoride, 23 months after the NRC recommended that they do so (remember it was the EPA which asked and paid for this review by the NRC!). They need to explain why the FDA has never required the testing of any of the chemicals used to fluoridate for safety and effectiveness, using the stringent methodologies used for any other drug or medical practice.

Signing this ONLINE MESSAGE is the simplest way that people who are fighting this issue locally can link their efforts to the national campaign. This becomes even more important now that the Environmental Working Group (EWG) has agreed to help get a Congressional hearing. It makes their job easier if they can point to thousands of constituents who support such hearings. 10,000 may seem a lot until you stop to think how many dentists the ADA can call upon to robotically offset our lobbying effort. I would like to shoot for 100,000 by the end of the year and that would not be unrealistic if the groups who are fighting this locally made sure that everyone they reached, who showed a positive response, were asked to sign the ONLINE MESSAGE. For the groups that have been fighting this for some time would you please circulate an appeal to your members?

3) The Osmunson video passes 23,000 views

As of today the video taped interview (5 minutes in length) with Dr. Bill Osmunson, posted on YouTube, has been watched by 23,343 people (see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Ys9q1cvKGk). In addition the videotape has been shown on a local cable TV station and we have had requests from several people for DVD copies so that that they can show it to their local councils. We hope to have these available by April. Stay tuned…

4) The “Poisoned Horses” video passes 3,000 views

The 8 minute excerpt from David Kennedy’s longer (28 minute) videotape of Cathy and Wayne Justus’s horses which were poisoned by fluoridated water has been now viewed by 3,472 people on YouTube (see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9RXfOuylWo ). 5) The other FAN videos

On our home page you will find links to other important videos. Well over 100,000 people have watched one or more of these tapes. If you haven’t watched them yet I recommend doing so. Individually they all pack a punch, but taken collectively it is hard to imagine how anyone could watch them and not realize that fluoridation promoting governments  - for whatever reasons -  are simply not telling the truth to citizens about this practice.
