Dear Supporter,

I spoke to the secretary of one of Louisiana’s state representatives and found out that the mandatory fluoridation bill (SB 312) will come to the floor of the house for debate and vote on Thursday next (June 13). We have only four more days to make a difference.

1) If you live in Louisiana. The most important thing you can do is to phone your representative. Urge him or her to get the bill tabled until the House has heard from both sides of this very controversial issue. If he has doubts on the matter urge him to vote NO.  ”If in doubt, keep it out!” Also please contact us at FAN so that we can put you in touch with others fighting mandatory fluoridation in Louisiana. 2) If you know someone who lives in Louisiana. The next most important thing you can do is urge anyone you know in Louisiana to do the same (as in 1) above).

3) Send a personal email. Please use the existing our ONLINE MESSAGE machinery to post a short personal email to all the LA representatives using our exiting ONLINE message system at  http://la2.fluoridealert.org . Simply paste in a new title and a new message. Again, keep it very short. Keep it very short. (If you haven’t yet sent in the 2nd Louisiana letter, than you can send the letter as is.)

The one thing we have learned from this frantic last minute effort is that we must find out about these PR orchestrated stealth attacks long before they have got this far. To this end if you would like to be informed personally the moment we find out that your state is threatened by a mandatory bid, please let us know. We will tabulate your email addresses by state so that a) you will get an early warning and b) we will provide you with a long list of contacts in your state to work with. Should this happen, please let us know whether you would like to have an organizing role.
