Announcing Historic Back-to-Back Conferences on Fluoride

FAN Bulletin #976

June 25, 2008

Dear Supporter,

Mark the following days on your calendar: August 7-August 11, 2008. These are the days that two historic back-to-back conferences of the International Society for Fluoride Research (ISFR) and Fluoride Action Network (FAN) will take place in Toronto, Canada.

The ISFR conference (August 7-10) will examine fluoride’s impact on bone and brain health and feature presentations from some of the world’s leading scientists on fluoride toxicity. The FAN conference (August 10-11), in addition to hearing from   key researchers, will address what citizens can do to stop water fluoridation in their own communities and regions. Taken together, the conferences will allow attendees to:

    * Hear and digest the best science on fluoride’s dangers to human health;
    * Meet some of the world’s leading fluoride researchers;
    * Meet and strategize with citizens and scientists fighting fluoridation from Canada, US, Australia, and other countries.

The two conferences will both take place on the beautiful campus of the University of Toronto at Mississauga (12 miles west of Toronto). For more details - including information on accommodations, dining, and registration fees - see: http://www.fluoridealert.org/conference2008/

People interested in attending should try to register as soon as possible, as there is an early-bird discount for people who register before July 5th (for ISFR) and before July 15th (for FAN).

Immediately following the conferences, FAN will be holding public presentations in downtown Toronto at the United Steelworker’s Hall. The presentations will feature a keynote address on fluoride’s effect on IQ by Dr. Vyvyan Howard, the President of the International Society of Doctors for the Environment.

The 3 events - the ISFR Conference, the FAN Conference, and the public presentations in downtown Toronto - will provide a treasure trove of valuable information to anyone working to defeat water fluoridation.

And speaking of defeating fluoridation, if you haven’t yet sent a letter to Governor Jindal asking him to veto the mandatory fluoridation in Louisiana, you can do so online at: http://la2.fluoridealert.org

Hope to meet you in Toronto!

Paul Connett
