FAN Bulletin 990
July 21, 2008
Dear Supporter,
We are very much aware that some of you are disappointed at not being able to attend the triple fluoride event* in Toronto this August, largely because of the costs of getting there. However, there is a fun way that you can be there ? in spirit. That is by sending in an item for the FAN’s FUN AUCTION. This will take place on Sunday evening August 11.
As each item is put up for auction we will read out the donor’s name and any message of encouragement for our deliberations and the invigorated campaigns which we hope will follow.
The kind of items are we looking for:
1. Unexpected surprise items. Creativity welcomed! Think of something which will produce a chuckle - or a high bid!
2. Items which have a connection to the fluoridation battle: books, documents, memorabilia, leaflets, buttons etc from the past battles.
3. Funny ones ? Items with a chicken or parrot theme. Reason: fluoridation promoters argue like parrots and defend like chickens (I think I will include the yellow chicken that Ailsa Boyden crocheted for me ? she did this in lieu of any Australian promoters willing to debate me on my three tours of Australia - is that OK Ailsa?). Singing fish etc.
4. Books, CDs, DVDs (Monty Python?) etc which you have enjoyed and would like to share with other fluoridation fighters.
At the last two FAN conferences we were really surprised at the huge amount of fun it was for all of us who participated in the event. The auction items were terrific! It also put some much needed cash into FAN’s coffers.
Please mail your items to Paul Connett, 82 Judson Street, Canton NY 13617 and include a card with your name and message to FAN, which will be read out before your item is auctioned. Please make sure they get here by August 6.
Thank you for everything you do to end this practice worldwide.
Paul Connett
