FAN Bulletin 2001
December 6, 2009
A huge thank you to our readers on two fronts.
First, thank you to all who have helped the citizens of Mildura (the little Australian city that roared) resist the arrogant attempts to force fluoridation on their community without a vote, without a debate and without the chief state health bureaucrat answering key questions posed to him by 20 professionals.
Your names have swelled the number of people signing the letter being sent to the Victorian Health Minister calling for the resignation of Dr. John Carnie. The list to date is printed below. There is time to add your name, because the letter will be sent again and again as the number grows. To join the “roar” just send your name and a one sentence description of who you are to me at pconnett@gmail.com and Daniel Zalec at afam.daniel@gmail.com. Daniel will be continually updating the list of names being sent to the Victorian Health Minister and I will be keeping count this end.
Second, thank you for those who have so generously given towards our efforts to continue the fight against fluoridation in 2010. Our goal by midnight December 31 is $50,000. Yesterday after one full day of this campaign we had raised $1325 from 14 donors. However, having reached our first mini-goal of $1000, that triggered another $1000 donation from a very generous supporter who had pledged to double donations up to a total of $1000. Thus our total as of now is $2325 from 15 donors.
Another “angel” contribution with a different slant!
Noting that we are getting very large contributions from just a few people, this person would like to see smaller donations from many more people. So she will pledge another $1000 if we can get 100 people donating $25 (FAN’s members’ annual subscription) or more. So even though the economic situation is rough at the moment we hope that most of our supporters will think FAN is worth at least $25 to keep this battle going. What say you?
