On Fluoridation Of Drinking Water
Not in My Water Supply
Margo Roosevelt Bellingham
Time, October 24, 2005 p62-63.
“But much has changed since 1945, starting with our toothpastes.
Today fluoride is an ingredient in most brands of dentifrice on the
market. Because toothpaste is designed to be spit out, it’s a more
efficient way to get the decay-fighting ingredient where it is
needed and nowhere else. Even some dentists, who see firsthand the
benefits of fluoridation, wonder whether people who get fluoride
from toothpaste should get it in their drinking water as well.”
Did researchers ask right questions about fluoridation?
Monday, July 25, 2005
By Sharon Begley, The Wall Street Journal
[as reprinted in the Pittsburg-Post Gazette]
When health officials decided to add fluoride to the water supply of
Grand Rapids, Mich., in 1945, they plunged ahead despite the lack of
a rigorous, large-scale study of the risks and benefits. And for
most of the next 60 years, fluoridation research has gone pretty
much like that. It has not been science’s finest hour.

on fluoridation and lead a campaign to promote fluoridation in those
parts of New Zealand which had resisted … fluoride….
